Congratulations to all those that took ballet, modern or tap exams in our March session!
Our students achieved a really impressive set of results, with everyone taking an exam, across all three genres achieving either a merit or a distinction!
Congratulations to the following students who scored the highest marks on each day- Sophie Evans for Ballet Grade 1, with 90 marks (Distinction), Chloe Tavner for Modern Grade 1, with 83 marks (Distinction) & Becca Whatley, for Tap Intermediate with 85 marks (Distinction). Well done all of you. Special congratulations also to Sophie Hayes, & Sophie Blair, for achieving a Distinction & high Merit respecitively for Intermediate Tap. Well done all of you- you excelled yourselves!
Our next exam session will be held in late November/ early December- 30th November for Modern/ Tap & 8th & 9th December for ballet.
In order to maintain our recent high standards & excellent exam results, I must advise that students that miss 3 lessons in an exam term will not be entered for, & may be withdrawn from an exam. If you are aware that your child may miss lessons in exam term, please advise the class teacher as soon as possible-we are more than happy to move your child to the next level without taking an exam, but we are not comfortable entering children who are nervous & unprepared for exams, so would rather do this than having the disappointment of having to withdraw a student close to their exam. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Students taking exams of Grade 4 or higher must be attending a minimum of 3 ballet classes per week, in order to achieve the standard necessary at this level.
Miss Nicky is now on maternity leave. Her classes will be covered by the following teachers;
Monday- Miss Tilly
Tuesday- Miss Heather
Wednesday- Miss Jenna
Friday- Miss Heather
Saturday- Miss Alex
Miss Nicky intends on returning to teaching before Christmas.
Massive welcome back to Miss Lucy, who returns to the school to take on her Saturday classes, following the birth of her little boy, Caleb, last June. We are delighted to have you back, Miss Lucy! 😀
A gentle reminder that new uniform is now compulsory. Please see the notice boards at the studios for full details. Along with the new uniform, the teachers request that a neat bun is worn for ALL classes, & that leotard & tights be worn for jazz & conditioning classes (non-uniform leotard is fine), please. A small note, regarding ballet shoes- I am aware that you can purchase ballet shoes in some supermarkets now. Whilst the price & convenience of these is very appealing, unfortunately, these do not always fit well, & can lead to issues when children take exams, & an improved fit is required. Rachel, of Roynon Dancewear, is always on hand to ensure that little feet will look their best in their shoes.
